Principal - Dr. Charles Urness joined Franklin Middle School as the principal in 2010. Dr. Urness graduated from UW-LaCrosse in 1993, with majors in History and Broadfield Social Studies. In 2001, he received a Master’s in Educational Leadership from UW-Madison. In 2012, Dr. Urness earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from UW-Madison. He is committed to equity and excellence in education. That is, he believes every student is an equal part of the school community and every student can and will experience academic achievement. This is no easy task; it requires collaboration and mutual support by students, educators, parents, and the community.
